Turning an Unused Corner into the Heart of the Backyard
Before this South Tampa project, the space behind the home was simply an open patio corner facing the side yard fence — functional, but forgettable. There was no fire feature, no focal point, and no reason to linger. Just Grillin Outdoor Living transformed that overlooked corner into a custom outdoor gas fireplace centerpiece that now anchors the entire outdoor living space.
If you’re picturing something similar for your own South Tampa backyard, this project is a great example of how a custom outdoor fireplace can completely redefine how a family uses their outdoor space.
Custom-Designed Natural Gas Fireplace
At the center of this build is a traditional natural gas burning fireplace, fitted with realistic gas logs and burners for authentic flame and ambiance at the push of a button — no wood, no mess, no hassle. The fireplace was fully custom-designed to match the architecture of the home, including:
- Decorative curved stucco detailing integrated into the fireplace surround for a soft, architectural silhouette
- Custom cast concrete mantel finished to complement the home’s existing exterior palette
- Custom cast concrete decorative surround trim framing the firebox with clean, elevated lines
- Tile coping with built-in bench seating flanking both sides of the fireplace, turning the hearth into a natural gathering spot for guests
Every detail — from the curve of the stucco to the finish on the concrete — was designed specifically for this home, not pulled from a generic template. That’s the level of craftsmanship you can expect on every Just Grillin Outdoor Living fireplace project.
Built for Everyday Living and Entertaining
A mounted TV above the fireplace makes this space as functional as it is beautiful — perfect for game days, movie nights, or simply relaxing outdoors after a long Florida day. Paired with the built-in bench seating, the fireplace area now functions as a true outdoor living room, not just a patio accessory.
Why Homeowners Choose a Custom Outdoor Fireplace
An outdoor gas fireplace does more than add warmth on cooler Florida evenings — it creates a defined gathering space, extends the usable months of your patio, and instantly elevates curb appeal and resale value. For homes in South Tampa and across the greater Tampa Bay area, a professionally designed fireplace like this one turns an ordinary backyard into a true extension of the home.
